    Home step by step

    • You will visit the building plot before signing the building contract. This enables us to mark out the house layout, to assess ease of access to the house, to decide on the best house model for the site and to decide where the utilities are to be placed;

    • The signature of the building permit application: the client will sign the application, the various plans, the application for ‘permission de voirie’ (permission to encroach on a public highway during works) and the application for permission to install drainage (demande d’installation d’assainissement) (if needed). Maisons Traditionnelles will then deliver the full dossier to the local town hall where the building plot is located and take delivery of the dossier receipt;

    •  The options meeting: This meeting aims to enable the client to take an active part in their project with the opportunity to take certain decisions, in conjunction with our technical teams;

    • The preparation meeting scheduled for before building work begins: this meeting will explain to the client how the project will proceed once work begins on-site and detail the rights, duties and legal obligations of each party;

    • The beginning of building work: This phase may only begin once five conditions precedent have been met (The applications for the building permit and bank loan must be approved, the plot must have been purchased and client’s  insurance cover and a performance bond must have been taken out);

    • The project’s progress: the client receives a weekly update of how work is progressing on the site and is invited to attend meetings when any new phase of work begins;

    • Final inspection and hand over:  This stage begins as soon as building work is completed. It triggers the transfer of liability. All the insurance policies come into effect at this point.
